Ich wollte mal auf eine Veranstaltung am kommenden Wochenende in Berlin hinweisen.
Es wird eine Buffy Konferenz am Sa. 29.11.2008, 11:00 Uhr Roter Salon der Volksbühne Berlin stattfinden. Eintritt 5 €.

I cannot say how the world would look like without Star Trek but I can say that I do not know how my life would have been without Star Trek. The franchise had some major influence in my life so far. I would not have met some of my closest friends and maybe picked a different career but what amazes me, without Star Trek I would not have met my girlfriend, either. And she had not even seen a single episode of Star Trek when we met. So I am pretty pleased that there was a relativly unsuccessful TV Show in the 1960´s that became such an important part of my youth and still is.

I don´t want to spoil anyone so I´ll just talk about my general feeling.
I saw the new Indiana Jones last night and I must admit that altough I liked it I´m kind of dissapointed. I have problems with the story, the look of the movie and the setting in the 50´s.
The story is crap but I did not expect it to be a mindopener. For me it was pretty clear that the story was leading to this end because I´ve seen a TV-Episode about the crystall skull. It´s the change of direction, away from religious artifacts to something different, that was iritating. You have a clear picture of what an Indiana Jones story is about and for the most part of the movie this is delivered but the conclusion was a bit unusal and I don´t know what it was about.
I didn´t like the look of the movie especially in the first part of the movie. I needed some time getting used to the new setting. At some points it was way over the top. Especially the action sequences but in the whole tone of the movie they still fit in.
This movie is more like a comic book than any other of the previous films. Harrison Ford still has the vibes but in some parts you notice that 20 years have passed since "Last Crusade". I liked Shia and Karen Allen. Although she was a little bit overacting more than once but the chemistry between Marion and Indy was great. Cate Blancett was great but her character wasn´t the best villain of the series.
I have to watch the movie again when it comes out on DVD to see if it really works for me.

Hello Folks!
Rumors about my death have been extremly exagerated. I´m alive and well.
I´m currently in Berlin with my girlfriend and we´re preparing for party tonight and because I´ve made no christmas greetings at all I´m doing it now.
"Merry Christmas" for everyone on my flist.
I will be online more often in the future. I promise!
I wish a Happy New Year for all people out there who know me an of course to their families.

I´ve just watched Batman Begins.
I really really liked the movie. Though there were one major plothole which didn´t make any sense but I liked it. Christian Bale is a great Batman but he sounded so strange with the voice scrambler or what he used. It does make more sense though because I´ve always wondered why nobody recognized his voice. Espesially the people who know Bruce Wayne and Batman.
Okay the story didn´t add something new to Batman and it was a typical superhero movie but the characters were true. I´m a huge Batman Fan and this movie brings back the dignity and complexety to the character of Bruce Wayne and Batman. I missed these elements in the last two Batman movies. Okay Batman Forever had something of that stuff too.
I really loved Michael Cain as Alfred. His performance was awesome and Gary Oldman as Gordon as well. I don´t know if the movie is something for people who don´t like superhero movies but it was a good movie.
It was fun. :) For me at least and I can´t wait to see the sequel.
